Civil Designers produce design calculations as well as drawings, layouts, general arrangements and details of foundations, roads, highways and drainage. NES supplies Civil Designers to a range of engineering sectors, including the process, petrochemical, the built environment, water and oil & gas industries.
To be successful in this type of role, a relevant academic qualification - a degree in Civil / Structural Engineering or equivalent - can be advantageous, although it is not essential. Chartership, particularly for more senior roles, is also valued and civil designers should also have experience with using specislist software - such as Arcady, Moss, AutoCAD, CADDS RC, MicroSystem, Revit, AutoCAD 3D, PDS, Microdrainage, Hydroworks or Infoworks.
