The role works within the Infrastructure Investment E&P team. The Electrification & Plant (E&P) Programme is responsible for the development, design and implementation of projects required to renew Network Rail's E&P assets. Electrification includes all elements of traction substations, associated distribution systems, and overhead and third rail contact systems. Fixed plant includes a wide range of assets from tunnel lighting, pumping installation, swing bridge mechanisms to remote condition monitoring, points heating and signaling power supplies.

The E&P Team is based at George Stephenson House, York is a small, professional and dynamic unit with a strong reputation for successful delivery of projects and a proven track record of high performance and efficiency.

The candidate will need a good understanding of GRIP (Guide to Railway Investment Projects) and be confident and capable of managing various Sponsors. (Much of the work is funded by other organisations e.g. Department of Transport, Local Authority, and therefore the individual must be capable of managing these relationships).
