Our client is a leading professional engineering and project management specialist for project solutions and services across several key market areas. These include; Oil & Gas, Chemical, Nuclear, Defence, Infrastructure, Transportation & Environmental. The nuclear and decommissioning division of the comapny are presently seeking a Proejct Engineer to support the increase in workload. This position is based at an operational nuclear power station in the Somerset region.

40 hour week
Security Clearance required BC +

Requirements

Nuclear power plant experience
Experience of supervising and setting contractors/sub contractors work in their roles.
Experience in leading a team
Multi-discipline project experience
Suitable industry experience of testing and commissioning activities
Co-ordination of engineering disciplines working to industry standards and to a certified quality management system.
Possesses good communication skills and is able to conduct meetings and reviews with Client personnel with minimal supervision
Thorough knowledge of planning and work-hour control
Self starter
Track record of successful completion of projects
Strong understanding of the need for Quality within the project environment including use and structure of Quality Assurance documentation and intent and appropriate application of Quality Assurance process and activities
Good knowledge of relevant Health and Safety legislation, including but not limited to CDM Regulations and Health and Safety at Work Act
Good knowledge of internal and external standards and procedures specifically those applicable to power station working.


Responsibilities

Comply with Projects Division procedures
Carry out activities that ensure the project complies with the Work Management Process
Arrange and/or conduct safety walkdowns
Carry out activities that ensure the project complies with the Work Management Process
Perform the duties of an SLO / CM
Conduct Quality Spot Checks
Perform testing & commissioning activities
Utilise CDMS in support of project activities
Facilitate & Chair Meetings
Be aware of the technical and commercial obligations of the contract, and ensure that they are understood and implemented by the staff in his/her area of responsibility
Exercise all reasonable skill and judgement in the application of Company technical, quality, safety, commercial and legal policies in his/her area of responsibility
Understand the implications of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and subsequent regulations as they affect the responsibilities of individuals, subcontractors and Jacobs
Fully comprehend the concept of 'Risk Assessment'
Comply with Client procedures as appropriate
Apply internal and external standards and procedures to project activities
Carry out activities that ensure the project complies with the Client Work Management Processes
Utilise the Client and/or Company's controlled Document Management System as appropriate in support of project
