These capabilities enable safety technology to offer a through-life service to clients based on development of the case for safety, providing added-value solutions in all areas of business risk.

Job Responsibilities
We are recruiting a Principal Safety Consultant to provide support to the Safety Technology Section in Consulting Services. Reporting to the Head of Consulting Services, the role will involve:
Lead Risk Management project activities in the Department
Lead/facilitate HAZID/HAZOP studies
Manage, carry out or participate in various safety studies in the area of safety engineering
Manage, carry out or participate in QRA activities
Participate in assuring legislative compliance on behalf of clients (Safety Case and supporting Regulations, Pipelines Safety Regulations)
Assist Clients with general Health, Safety and Environmental requirements
Supervise Senior Engineers / Risk Analysts, Engineers and Technical Assistants

Job Requirements
We are looking for candidates with a degree in an engineering or scientific discipline, with a proven in-depth track record of relevant experience with in oil and gas background. Ideally, candidates will have Chartered status with and Engineering or Scientific Institute and/or have the relevant experience in a similar role within the Oil & Gas industry.

Familiar with hazard identification techniques, you will have an organised, practical approach. The role will require adaptability and an ability to work to sometimes tight deadlines. There may also be a requirement to travel both offshore and overseas, sometimes at short notice.
You will also need good communication skills, including technical report writing; the ability to work to tight deadlines and adaptability.
