Role

A Chartered Engineer with post professional qualification experience is sought to assist an Associate Director within one of the Structures teams.

The role requires a good communicator who will work with the office team members ranging from graduates and technicians to senior management. With an interest in architecture, you shall be involved in all stages of building engineering projects from strategy evaluation and concept development to detailed design and contract administration. You will be actively involved in representing the company, particularly at project meetings.

As a senior member of the staff your day to day responsibilities shall include amongst others:

Leading people and work effectively and efficiently;

Leading single and multi-discipline projects;

Provide technical support and manage the technical accuracy and delivery of those below you;

Mentor and coach graduate and assistant engineers and trainee technicians and develop their training toward Chartership;

Promoting and developing multi-disciplinary working;

Assisting the development of the group�s technological approach and deployment on future projects;

Client care and development;

Assisting in the preparation of fee bids and submissions;

Assisting in preparing project resource schedules; and

Effective management of project resources;

Experience:
Candidates must have relevant experience that reflects their leadership within design teams on building design projects with a history of design and detailing experience in all traditional materials. Ideally, they shall be experienced in all aspects of building engineering, with experience of geotechnical engineering and building infrastructure, including an appreciation of building services. Knowledge of RAM, CSC Building Designer and similar design/drawing interface packages would be of advantage, but ICT literacy is essential.

Candidates shall have had exposure to clients, designers, contractors and builders. Through the effectiveness of their technical management, the successful candidate shall develop these relationships and become more involved in the management of the business.
