Our client is a large nuclear decommissioning consultancy. They are currently looking to recruit a Civil & Structural Designer for a long term contract or a Permanent Role, working within the Nuclear industry. This role will be based in the Cumbria Region. Designers make up the body of the engineering department and are responsible for carrying out the day to day developments of the design through the design process.

The Civil / Structural Designer will be involved in the development of designs to satisfy technical specifications, primarily using AutoCAD

Preparation of design documentation throughout the design process and the preparation of supporting design calculations to substantiate design will all be carried out by the civil / structural designer

Preparation of risk assessments will be undertaken by the civil / structural designer as will the technical files and other technical documentation required by safety legislation and procedures

The civil / structural designer will ideally be educated to at least HNC level (or equivalent)in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering and those who have a good understanding of generic civil engineering principles will be advantageous.

It is desired that the civil / structural designer will have experience in the nuclear industry although this is not essential as candidates from all backgrounds will be considered
