Our client is an established international process contractor, building and designing facilities in the UK and overseas. We have a worldwide reputation for excellence in executing technology driven projects across a wide range of business sectors.

As a global process contractor, our projects involve significant overseas working and candidates should apply with the knowledge that they may be required to periodically travel and work away from our office based in Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire. Additionally they may have to relocate to site in line with project requirements.


THE POSITION
Reporting to the Global Head of Operations, the successful candidates will take total responsibility for the execution of major EPC projects.
Experience
Proven track record in managing international Lump Sum Turnkey EPC projects, preferably with at least one project with contract value in excess of US$250m within the chemical, petrochemical, power, water, oil, and gas or refinery industries
Strong in claims preparation associated with additional cost and extension of time
Working with remote engineering and procurement centres
Worked in a JV or a Consortium
Proven track record in leading and motivating multi-national global project teams
Have successfully managed schedules, budgets and cash control.
Competencies
Able to develop project specific strategies
Able to deliver projects based upon client or licensed technology packages or FEEDS
Understands issues relating to onshore/offshore contract arrangements and their tax implications
Understands issues relating to shipping, customs clearance, import duties, transportation of equipment and materials
Has knowledge of modern planning and project control systems
Keeps up to date with health, safety and environmental issues associated with process plant design and construction
Able to deal with issues relating to financial arrangements
Has strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to deal with senior management on all aspects including internal personnel, clients, financial institutions and government organisations.
Qualifications
Degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent
Other
Ideally the candidate will have worked for a major international contractor rather than consultancies or clients e.g. ABB Lummus, Aker Kvaerner, Stone & Webster, AMEC, Flour, Foster Wheeler, KBR, Snamprogetti or Washington.
