Our clients, are a large rail organisation, are looking to recruit a Principal Safety Engineer at their offices in Central London. The Principal Safety Engineer will be responsible for ensuring Engineering Safety Management activities are developed, executed and documented in accordance with legislation and industry accepted practice. These responsibilities are frequently associated with client-facing roles on high-profile and challenging rail projects, offering the candidate long-term skill set and career development opportunities.

Candidate specification
Ideally an experienced engineer with a good railway background across a range of disciplines, though candidates from other industries may be considered.
The candidate should have an Engineering Degree (or equivalent), demonstratable experience, and preferably a professional qualification
Experience in railway design/consultancy, ideally within large engineering or multi-disciplinary projects, would be advantageous
An understanding and appreciated of the complexities of large, multi-disciplinary projects and how this impacts engineering design functions
An understanding of hazard analysis (HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA) is essential
A willingness to develop and enhance their own experience and skill set, and those of junior colleagues
Capable of reporting and producing status reviews for senior colleagues
