Operations HSE Engineer: South East
Our client is an operating company with offices in the South East of the UK. A vacancy has arisen for an Operations HSE Engineer to be located in their London offices on a contract basis.

The role will involve provision of HSE and QA advice and services during the FEED phase of the project, aiming to ensure that all the aspect related to the HSE&QA standards and procedures and regulation have been considered. There will be need for integration/updating/extension of the existing HSE&QA standard and procedures with the new facilities in respect of corporate procedures and with country statutory HSE regulations, requiring you to prepare the HSE procedures for the construction, commissioning and start-up phases. (SIMOPS, Permit to Work, etc) and the related procedure aimed to keep the entire collection of procedures always updated, revised, distributed and filed. You will promote and support the identification, assessment and management of the HSE risks and opportunities during the FEED phase in line with the corporate risk management and ALARP principles.
You will provide process safety support and input to the plant expansion study, supporting the identification and execution of studies to identify (HAZID, ENVID, and HAZOPS etc.) quantify (QRA) or mitigate HSE risks.

You will assist the Operation Manger with the results of HAZOP, Risk Assessments, and Risk Analysis studies and addressing proper input when necessary and in all the issues related to QA and certifications, being familiar with the standards, specifications applied during the FEED and Design.

The successful candidate will have a degree/diploma in safety engineering or equivalent, EPC projects and Operations experience would be a great advantage. You will have Vendor QA and QC Coordination on major equipment packages and be familiar and comfortable with ISO9001:2000 and a process based approach to quality management.
