QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in Instrument and Control - HNC/HND may be acceptable dependant on experience

WORK EXPERIENCE
Minimum of two years experience in a similar roles
Knowledge of front end and detailed design of Control and Instrumentation systems
Experience of certification of instrumentation for use in Hazardous areas TEX/CENELEC as well as North American standards
Familiarity with hands on instrument testing/calibration checks
Working knowledge of ISO 9001
Experience in use of Microsoft Office 2000
Use of instrument database software (where possible)

CORE COMPETENCIES
Application of correct instrumentation/measuring principles to process/duty
Awareness of international standards relating to instrumentation
Understanding of quality assurance

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Specification of field instruments, including pressure, temperature, level transmitters, field indicators, actuated and control valves
Preparation of RFQs and evaluation of quotations for subsequent purchase orders
Preparation of cause and effects, control philosophy and control panel specification
Preparation of instrument hook-ups, cable schedules, instruments index, alarm and trip schedules, test specifications, etc
Checking of instrumentation and associated documents
Review/approval of sub vendor documentation
Testing of instruments during FAT/SAT/Pre-commissioning
Site acceptance/pre-commissioning work
