Our client is currently seeking an Hydraulic Engineer to work as part of a multi discipline team on the design of wastewater/water treatment plants. This role will be based in Birchwood, Warrington.

To be sucessful in this role you will have relevant experience and a background in Civil, Mechanical or Process engineering.

Candidates should have strong experience in the Water Industry and be degree qualified.

You should be competent in all aspects of hydraulic design, including free surface flow and pressurised flow. Experience of surge analysis would be an advantage.

A good working knowledge of hydraulic design and experience of the interfaces with other disciplines, e.g. Process, Civil, Mechanical and Electrical.

You should be familiar with process design for both water and wastewater treatment.

You should be able to undertake and report on the hydraulic assessment of existing assets and should be familiar with the hydraulic design of sewer overflows.

Good communication and analytical skills are essential and you should be able to write clear, accurate and concise engineering reports and specifications. You should be able to work to deadlines and should be a team player with the ability to work with minimum of supervision

You should also be able to articulate concepts and ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Knowledge of the regulatory environment, operational environment and whole life cost implications of proposed designs is important, as is familiarity with H&S and CDM requirements.
