Fire & Gas and General Safety Specialist: South East
Our client is a large engineering company working in the oil and gas industry with locations worldwide. A vacancy has arisen for a Fire & Gas and General Safety Specialist to be located in their South East offices on a contract basis.

The role will be supporting a Principal Safety Specialist, and will involving developing engineering solutions to Technical Safety Engineering requirements; at detail design phase, as part of a Risk & Safety team engaged in production of engineering deliverables to a tightly controlled schedule for an Oil & Gas project.

The successful candidate must have an extensive background in engineering in either off or onshore safety design engineering, with detailed knowledge of design and engineering practice associated with Fire and Gas Detection systems, including knowledge of European regulations, codes and standards affecting the use, distribution and availability of detection devices.
You will be conversant with a design process that involves producing specifications, fire zoning, layout mark ups, cause & effect charts and block diagrams. Drafting will be carried out by others, so you must be able to demonstrate sound, all-round, communication skills along with providing a confident and effective technical service.
