Working in a small team the post holder will be required to provideleadership and management support to Engineers forthe submission of information to corporate plans and for the development of asset management policies.

Aspects of the role involve the following:
Manage the process for the provision of consolidated national engineering information, optimised across disciplines, to corporate plans.
Coordinate the updating of the asset management policies at appropriate intervals. Maintain and develop a process for reviewing the documents and for responding to comments made on them.
Check that all asset management policy statements are supported by appropriate business justification, including the assessment of business risks. Provide advice and guidance to those drafting the policy statements.
Bring any business risks identified to the notice of the policy owners and support the development of mitigating actions.
Support the development of improved processes and tools related to the submission of engineering information to corporate plans and asset management policy development.
Present engineering corporate plan information and asset management policies and the processes that produced them to other functions, and, when required, to external organisations such as the Office of Rail Regulation.

Communicate the existence and purpose of the asset management policies throughout the company and provide briefing and interpretation of the policies where required.


Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Essential
Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject
Substantial experience of corporate planning in a major organisation and relevant engineering experience
Ability to use corporate planning software
Excellent communication skills
Flexible and enthusiastic approach to work
Good team player
Desirable
Knowledge of corporate planning systems
Good knowledge of process development techniques
Good knowledge of railway infrastructure engineering
