An exciting Contract opportunity has arisen within NHS Connecting For Health's HealthSpace Team. This is a 6 month contract duration with an optional extension period of a further 6 months. This is a post that needs to be filled immediately.

HealthSpace is an existing online service which currently provides secure access to services such as the user\'s personal health details, booking appointments through Choose and Book and. In 2007, the National Director of Patients and the Public commissioned HealthSpace strategy review, which identified how HealthSpace should evolve to deliver more benefits to the public and the NHS through the use of secure online service. In addition, the new HealthSpace strategy will integrate with other online NHS initiatives, in particular NHS Choices.

The programme to deliver this HealthSpace strategy and an associated business case are currently being defined. This programme will deliver a significant increase in HealthSpace functionality to a significantly increased user base. Accordingly, the HealthSpace team must also increase in size, with a number of new roles being required.

The Development & Test Manager role is a key role within the HealthSpace Programme. Reporting directly to the Programme Manager and through this post to the HealthSpace Programme Head.

This role will provide a programme management capability across multiple development releases, ensuring that key target dates are met and that a given release is successfully delivered.

The post holder will ensure effective management of multiple HealthSpace releases, from inception, through development and testing, to first of type deployment. The post will also support, as required, the programme team in the planning of deployment beyond first of type. Essentially, the post holder will provide programme management and assurance to ensure the successful delivery of HealthSpace releases. There is significant involvement with supplier management.

In addition the post holder will undertake a problem manager role within the HealthSpace programme being accountable for the investigation and analysis of relevant incidents and problems.
