Design HSSE Manager: South East
Our client is a major engineering company with projects worldwide. A vacancy has arisen for a Design HSSE Manager to be located in their South East offices on either a contract or permanent basis. The role will be assigned to an oil & gas FEED project and reports to the Risk Safety & Environmental Manager.

The role will involve advising the Project Management Team (PMT) on best HSSE practice, ensuring project policy, project HSSE Plan and related procedures are implemented, reviewed and updated as required. The position involves communicating with all parts of the project, directing them to take steps or courses of action as shall be necessary to ensure compliance with statutory HSSE requirements, project policy or HSSE procedures.

The successful candidate must have an MSc in safety engineering or related subject, with proven skills of managing HSSE in a complex, multi-risk environment in the Oil & Gas Industry. You will have excellent communication, presentation & leadership skills. Technical knowledge in the preparation of safety cases and ESHIA Impact Assessments would be considered highly desirable. Familiarity with QRA work and its influence and impact upon engineering design would also be required.

Flexibility to travel in the UK or overseas for short trips in support of project work would be desirable, as would the ability to chair HAZID or Safety Integrity Level (SIL) workshops would also be advantageous.
