Contracts Officer: Sellafield: 40-50,000(neg) Plus Car & Excellent benefits package

As of this morning I have been asked to recruit on behalf of one of the worlds leading, engineering and project management companies delivering to the worlds energy, power and process industries. With annual revenues of over 2 billion and employing over 22,000 people in more than 40 countries globally, this is a large player in a global field.

My current requirement is working for their Nuclear division at their Sellafield Office in Western Cumbria, providing key contract support to some of the most important work for the business. This role will be required to be proactive in its support of the project team with the preparation and processing of contractual claims and variations.

This position will require a strong commercial knowledge preferably gained within a technical environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

Ensuring the commercial robustness of all commercial offers
Undertake / assist in the production of Expressions of Interest and Pre-Qualifications
Assist with tender preparation and contract negotiations with Clients
Assist in the preparation of pricing sheets for tender reviews
Facilitate risk management meetings for tenders and projects
To be the bid manager/prospect manager for a range of bids and prospects
Review smaller tenders for robustness and assist in the presentation of larger tenders for more senior level review
Manage any contentious commercial issues through to completion
Assist commercial operations managers in monitoring identified contracts
Undertake initial review of client terms and conditions, and advise project team of key commercial issues
Review order cover and minimize work undertaken at risk
Assist in the preparation of project specific procurement strategies.
Review technical procurement specifications and mentor business staff in the preparation of commercially sound specifications as required
Provide commercial input to procurement specifications
Advise business team staff on commercial processes
Monitor commercial activities in business teams, and work proactively with business teams to ensure compliance and robustness
Advise commercial operations managers of the emergence of commercial problems

This is a very important appointment for the business and one, which will be expected to provide key support to the nuclear arm of a global player in the worlds energy, power and process industry.
