Our client is urgently seeking an experienced, highly motivated, high calibre Contracts Director for their largest Australian project. It is essential that the candidate has all of the required experience within a similar role.

Project

The Project is a major multi billion US$ LNG Plant located in Western Australia. The Project is being built on Barrow Island, approximately 60 kilometers northwest of Western Australia, and is classified as a nature reserve and will be operated by Chevron, on behalf of their joint venture with ExxonMobil and Shell. The initial first cargo is targeted for 3Q 2013 with final completion planned by the end of 2014.

The Project is currently embarking on an updated FEED phase to review the revised execution approach that will reduce on site man-hours by increasing the modularization content and urgently requires a Contracts Director.

Position

The position is based initially in London then relocating to Perth Western Australia thereafter. The Contracts Director will be part of the Contractors Project Leadership Team and will ensure that strategies, execution plans, structure, relationships and proper coordination and alignment is maintained on all matters relating to contracts management within his team and with the Owner, Chevron. The position will require significant exposure and experience with the capacity to ensure the global capabilities of contract management are brought to bear in Korea, Southeast Asia, and Australia. Since the majority of contracts will be awarded to Australian contractors, with the exception of the modules and their associated transportation contracts, then all contracts will be tendered, negotiated and awarded in Perth. Thus, the Contracts Director will have reporting to him a senior manager in both locations in London and Perth.
