Our Client analyse water/wastewater samples, and are currently looking for Analytical Chemists to join their expanding team. The role will involve preparation and analysis of samples, primarily by chromatographic techniques, for the determination of trace inorganic/organic compounds to satisfy DWI and UKAS requirements, ensuring that the service is delivered to time, cost and quality standards.

The role is within a fast moving quick turn-around laboratory, which must respond constantly to changing customer demands as well as supplying the regulatory and statutory commitment of the company. The post involves the use of highly automated state of the art equipment (GC, HPLC, GC-MS & LC-MS), with a very high level of investment in on the job training. The work is highly regulated giving excellent experience with business management systems, IT and data handling. The development of new techniques and the range of samples provided gives a challenging chemical analysis environment that will stretch, both knowledge and attitude. The role involves team interaction as well as individual work and the knowledge that you are providing results with protect both public health and the environment.

Applicants should be qualified to a minimum of HNC level or equivalent in Chemistry or a closely related subject. Alternatively candidates with science A levels & previous relevant laboratory work experience. Basic laboratory skills, comprehension of laboratory quality & health & safety systems, flexibility, and good communication skills and a genuine desire to progress career within the field of analytical chemistry are desirable.
