AWE

The Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE) has been central to the defence of the United Kingdom for more than 50 years, providing and maintaining the warheads for the country's nuclear deterrent.

Uniquely among the nuclear powers, AWE covers the whole life cycle of nuclear warheads, in a single establishment. This includes initial concept and design, through component manufacture and assembly, to in-service support and, finally, decommissioning and disposal.

The main goals of scientific and technological development at AWE have been to enable the design and production of nuclear warheads which have their performance assured and yet at the same time have the most stringent safeguards against unplanned operation.

AWE has an exceptionally diverse range of scientific, technological and engineering capabilities. In some of these AWE is the leader in both national and international fields. AWE can offer you a challenging career in a Company where the opportunities are up to you!

AWE is always interested in recruiting experienced engineers, scientists, business professionals and support staff. If you think you have the skills to work at AWE, please contact NES now to discuss current opportunities.
